Golden Link presents an online concert with Canadian folk troubadour Scott Cook

Rochester, NY – Live concerts may not be happening right now, but the online format has one advantage – distance is no issue. So for the next Golden Link concert on Saturday, November 21 at 6:30 pm, Alberta musician Scott Cook – who was here for Golden Link’s Turtle Hill Folk Festival in 2019 – and his band, the Indoorables, perform an online concert. Details and link to live stream will be posted soon at www.goldenlink.org.
Golden Link’s 49th Annual Turtle Hill Folk Festival Goes Virtual on September 11, 12, and 13, 2020

Rochester, N.Y.—Due to COVID-19 concerns, the 49th Annual Turtle Hill Folk Festival, presented by the Golden Link Folk Singing Society on September 11, 12, and 13, 2020 has moved to an online format. The Festival will feature two online concerts each day, followed by a post-concert Zoom reception with that day’s artists. The line-up is Cosy Sheridan and Pete’s Posse (Friday), Brendan Taaffe and Magpie (Saturday), and Jack Williams and The Cadleys (Sunday). Links to the performances will be available in the near future at www.goldenlink.org. A collectible souvenir t-shirt is available in the online Golden Link store. This year's virtual Turtle Hill Folk Festival will also be broadcast on Folk Music Notebook, a 24/7 streaming internet radio station presenting the finest folk.

Rochester, N.Y.—Enjoy a great weekend of folk music at the 49th Annual Turtle Hill Folk Festival, presented by the Golden Link Folk Singing Society at the Rotary Sunshine Campus, 809 Five Points Rd., in Rush, NY on September 11, 12, and 13, 2020. The Festival will feature evening concerts by Cosy Sheridan, Magpie, Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters, Pete’s Posse, Jack Williams, Brendan Taaffe. Festival tickets will be available in the near future at www.goldenlink.org, with discounts for Golden Link members.
RUNA returns to Golden Link for an evening of Celtic-flavored music

Rochester, NY – Celebrating more than 10 years together as a band, the Celtic-American “super group” and exciting five-piece band RUNA has been enchanting audiences by pushing the boundaries of Irish folk music into the Americana and roots music formats since their formation in 2008. They return to Rochester, NY, in a concert for the Golden Link Folk Singing Society on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 7:30 pm at the Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield.

Enjoy a fun evening of music featuring two regional favorites: the entertaining bluegrass/Americana band The Cadleys and the old-time/roots trio The Brothers Blue. Golden Link’s January Jamboree is like a mini-festival beginning with a harmony singing workshop with The Brothers Blue at 3 pm, a sing-around/jam session starting at 5 pm, and a chili supper from 6 to 7 pm (both meat and vegetarian options). The concert begins at 7:30 pm. Bring your instruments and voices to join in the fun on Saturday, January 25, at the Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield.
Golden Link presents an evening of acoustic roots music from Brooks Williams

At the crossroads of blues and American roots music, you’ll find guitarist and singer/songwriter Brooks Williams. Born in Statesboro, Georgia, and now living in the UK, Williams developed his signature sound in the small bars and coffeehouses of New York and Boston: laid-back vocals floating over Resonator riffs, Piedmont picking, and cigar box slide. Ranked as one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, Williams writes groove-laden songs and delivers them with an easy-going vocal style and monstrous guitar chops. Williams has performed on stages worldwide for more than 25 years, amassing an impressive catalogue of songs, recordings, and tales, with more than 20 CDs to his name. Rochester, NY – On the day of Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday, Golden Link honors his musical, environmental, labor, and civil rights legacy in this special concert featuring acclaimed performing songwriters Joe Jencks and Maria Dunn, who each in their own way are continuing Pete’s legacy. You’ll hear some of Seeger’s classic songs as well as Jencks and Dunn’s original music.
