Armed with his guitar, a dream, a quick wit, a soaring tenor voice, and the heart of an entertainer, he’s enthralled audiences everywhere he’s travelled. Rochester, NY –Juno Award-winning songwriter Lynn Miles and award-winning songwriter Lynne Hanson have teamed up to form the duo The LYNNeS. These two Canadian multi-instrumentalists fuse tight vocal harmonies with hauntingly gritty lyrics. Rochester, NY – Golden Link’s 2024-25 concert season kicks off with a concert by folk troubadour Scott Cook. Last here for the Turtle Hill Folk Festival in 2019, Scott is based in Edmonton, Alberta, and creates roots music that is timely, topical, and hopeful. For this visit, he is bringing his partner Pamela Mae on upright bass, banjo, and vocals, adding close harmonies and a bluegrass and old-time influence to his usual storytelling folk style. So for the next Golden Link concert on Saturday, November 21 at 6:30 pm, Alberta musician Scott Cook – who was here for Golden Link’s Turtle Hill Folk Festival in 2019 – and his band, the Indoorables, perform an online concert. Rochester, NY – Golden Link Folk Singing society celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021 and the monthly concert series includes a special concert with John McCutcheon, folk music’s renaissance man. Originally planned as an in-person concert, it will now be held through the live-streaming concert service Mandolin on Thursday, February 4 at 7:30 pm. Golden Link is one of a number of East Coast presenters who are sponsoring this concert, and a portion of every ticket purchased via Golden Link will also help support the organization.
