Phil is an acoustic, blues-based guitarist who has been playing in clubs and coffeehouses for years.He writes original songs but also covers artists from the 1930s through the folk/rock revival of the '60s and beyond. Suitable for the roadhouse or the coffeehouse, influences range from Big Bill Broonzt to Hoagy Carmichael, Piedmont finger-picking of Rev. Gary Davis and Blind Willie McTell, to the Delta style slide guitar of Mississippi Fred McDowell and Son House. Phil has recorded two CDs: "The Whirligig of Time" and "Somewhere South of the Moon," both available on most internet platforms.
