Registration: $10 Online Zoom Workshop with Dave Ruch

This workshop is a chance to learn old-time songs from Western New York that have been passed down for generations—and to pass them on to those who follow your own generation. Dave Ruch will sing and explore the background of songs of regional “Yorkers” he has researched and interpreted—the music of farmers, lumbermen, children, housewives, lake sailors, canallers and others.
Expect an educational, entertaining time with Dave choosing from mandolin, banjo, guitar, jaw harp and other instruments. He will take questions either during or afterwards.
Dave is a professional musician and educator based in Buffalo who has performed with The Canal Street String Band for Golden Link. He is a Public Scholar for the New York Council for the Humanities and travels regionally and internationally (in non-pandemic times)
to give hundreds of workshops and concerts each year. He calls
himself the “the luckiest guy in the world” to be doing this. But we’re the lucky ones.
Be sure to register here to reserve your place at the workshop by Sunday Jan. 10. Golden Link will send you a Zoom invitation on Jan 11. We will begin admitting people 10-15 minutes before the start time of 7pm.
