Calling all songwriters – those who “wannabe” and those who wanna discuss what they’ve already done.
Tim Rybinski, Golden Link’s Community Events Chair, will be hosting this workshop. “I will attempt to explain what goes through my own head as I attempt to write a song,” he says, also promising, “I’ll touch on some of my own weaknesses as a songwriter (e.g, ‘diddly melodies and too much introspection’). . . My hope is that there might be other songwriters there to contrast my thoughts with their own.”
He plans to share what he has learned from some of the best songwriters. And he will reveal "The Big Secret to Most Things," which “applies to songwriting and most aspects of daily life (but not to Atomic Physics or Brain Surgery).” Tim is one of the Grumpy Grampas and in the past 50+ years has written over 200 songs, of which 60 or so he considers as "keepers," (editor’s note: Ever heard “Exit 43” or “ Sidewalks”?).
After the workshop, attend the second half of the singaround and listen with new perspective to the songs being sung.
Be sure to register (online only) by Sunday, December 8th. For questions, contact our Education Coordinator.
