New Golden Link Website!

Web DesignOur old website has done well for us, but we found a new service that will provide us with more of the features we need to manage Golden Link, and at a lower cost. While the new site means we’ll have to change some things, we’re trying to keep it similar to the old site in many ways so you should find it different, but familiar. We’ve also taken this opportunity to make a few changes that simplify things for us. Here are some of the changes to expect:

True Family Memberships

Our old site allowed family memberships, but in name only. Each account was just for one person, who represented your family. On this new site, you can add family members to your account, so they can also take advantage of member privileges. Go to your member profile to add family members.

No paper tickets required for online event purchases

You will receive a confirmation email when purchasing tickets online, which will be your proof of purchase in case of an issue. But at events, you will normally need only arrive and tell us your name for us to verify your purchase.

Tickets are now purchased per person

If you purchase several event tickets on our website, you’ll be asked to select the other members or family members you’re buying for, or enter the names of any non-members you’re buying for. This helps us when identifying ticket holders at the front gate.

Mailbox TranspEmails are now opt-in/out for all
To simplify things, we have eliminated the decision to receive specific kinds of emails. Since we don’t send out a lot of them anyway, if you previously opted in, you’ll be receiving emails to let you know about upcoming concerts, workshops, and the Turtle Hill Festival. Of course, all emails will contain a link to opt out if you’d prefer not to get any of our notifications.


NewsNewsletters by Email - Paper is optional

All members will receive the full-color Folk Link Newsletter via email. Black and white paper newsletters will still be mailed out for those who choose this option. And if you were previously getting the paper newsletter, you will continue to get it just like before.

Membership Cards

Membership card SampleSince the website keeps track of our membership, and we have printed lists of members at every event, we no longer need membership cards to identify members. When you purchase your membership or renewal, you should keep the confirmation email as proof of purchase, but you should not normally need it to identify yourself as a member when buying tickets at the front gate of an event.  However, there may be times when you need to identify yourself as a Golden Link member, especially for events where we have partnered with other organizations that give a reduced price to our members.  You can get information on how to download your membership cards for viewing or printing by visiting our FAQ Page. Select the Membership Category and click on the FAQ titled "How can I get or replace my membership cards?"

Change to Refund Policy

We have always had a no-refund policy for online purchases, except in the case where we need to cancel an event. However, issuing refunds for cancellations is a difficult, time consuming, costly, and error-prone process. On our new site, we are changing to a credit-refund policy for cancellations. If an event is cancelled, you'll receive full credit for the price on our site, which can be applied to any future online purchases. 


Getting Help

Our new website is powered by a service called ClubExpress. They offer live support for all users during normal business hours, which are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Central Time, Monday through Friday. For questions on using any of our website features, including handling your profile, password issues, the purchasing process, etc. you can call them at (866) 457-2582. Of course, you can also email our webmaster at webmaster.folk@goldenlink.org at any time, but response time will vary depending on availability. For any Golden Link specific issues, please use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page to connect with the right person.

Also, check over your profile and make sure everything looks correct. You can make changes to update your own profile.
